Paige Spiranac is a former professional golfer who is now one of the most influential people in golf on social media. Spiranac is not shy about speaking her mind, which often makes her headlines. American sports presenter Kay Adams interviewed Spiranac in August 2023. During the interview, the 31-year-old revealed how her outfit choice caused a stir. “People always talk about my golf clothes. I told you before, I was wearing golf clothes, and people always say if you wear a collar and a knee-length skirt, you’ll play better. She did his best to get an LPGA tour card in 2016, but did not succeed on a professional circuit, quoted mental health issues in 2017 and ended his career as a professional. Spiranac said she was mentally exhausted, had more failures than successes in golf and everyone around her was asking her to quit the game because she wasn’t good enough.
“All of this, and me already struggling with mental issues after years and years of trying and failing, I had a mental breakdown. I honestly hacked. I broke and I just stopped. I said, ‘Maybe I’ll come back,’ and I never came back to try to play golf professionally,” Spiranac said (via the New York Post).
The influential golfer recently played in the PGA Tour’s Creators Classic at East Lake Golf Club ahead of the season finale, The Tour Championship. In eight holes, Spiranac shot +2 and remained 9th, while Luke Kwon managed to win the event.
